Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Clignite ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Clignite platform and websites (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information we collect

  • Account information you provide: name, email address, password (stored as a secure hash), workspace name, and payment details (processed by Stripe — we never see your card number).
  • CRM data you enter or import: contacts, deals, companies, activities, notes, forms, communications records (emails, SMS, call logs), and any files you upload. This data belongs to you — we access it only to operate the Service or when you explicitly request it.
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, API calls, IP address, browser type, and session duration. We use this to debug issues, measure feature adoption, and improve the product.
  • Cookies and similar technologies for session management, preferences (theme, font), and basic analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may not work.

2. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Send transactional emails (verification, password reset, receipts, usage alerts)
  • Bill you for the subscription you choose
  • Respond to support requests
  • Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information or your CRM data. We do not use your CRM content to train AI models.

3. Sharing with third parties

We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service, under a contract that obligates them to protect it. This includes:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Anthropic — AI features (we send only the specific content you ask the AI to work on, not your full database)
  • SendGrid / your SMTP — email delivery
  • Twilio — SMS and voice features (optional, if you enable them)
  • Cloud infrastructure providers — hosting, logging, monitoring

We may disclose information if legally required (valid subpoena, court order) or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Clignite, our users, or the public.

4. Your rights

  • Access & export: you can export your CRM data at any time from workspace settings, or request an export by emailing us.
  • Correction: edit or update any of your account or CRM data directly in the app.
  • Deletion: you can delete any workspace at any time, which permanently removes associated CRM data. You can also delete your account entirely.
  • GDPR / CCPA: if you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights (data portability, right to object, right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority).

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures: encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted passwords (bcrypt), hashed API keys, role-based workspace access, regular backups, and least-privilege infrastructure access. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password.

6. Data retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete a workspace or account, we remove it from primary databases within 30 days and from backups within 90 days. We may retain minimal records (billing history, legal compliance) longer where required.

7. International transfers

Our infrastructure may be located in different countries than where you reside. By using the Service, you consent to transfer of your information to these countries.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll notify active customers by email if we make material changes.
